Windows XP Configuration

Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel.
If you are using Category View open 'Network and Internet Connections' [screenshot of category view]

If you are using Classic View open 'Network Connections.' [screenshot of Classic View control panels]
[screenshot of Network Connections control panel] Click on 'Create a new connection.'

Select 'Set up my connection manually' and click Next [screenshot on New Connection Wizard page 3]

Type 'Telerama' in the ISP Name field and click Next. [screenshot of New Connection Wizard page 5]

Enter your Username and Password.
Check the appropriate options and click Next.

[screenshot of New Connection Wizard page 8] Check 'Add a shortcut to the connection to my desktop' and click Finish.
Right click on the Telerama icon and select 'Properties.' [screenshot of Network Connections control panel]
[screenshot of Telerama Properties; General tab] Select 'Use dialing rules' and enter the Area code for your local dialup. Click on the 'Dialing Rules' button.

Click OK.

Click OK.

Click on the 'Options' Tab.
Uncheck 'Include Windows logon domain.' Check appropriate other options.
Click on the Security Tab.

[screenshot of Telerama Properties; Security tab] Select Typical and set 'Validate my identity as follows:' to 'Allow unsecured password.'
Click on the Networking Tab.
Set 'Type of dial-up server I am calling:' to 'PPP: Windows 95/98/NT 4/2000, Internet'. Make sure "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and "Client for Microsoft Networks" are installed and checked.

If not, click ADD and select 'Client' from the list, pick 'Microsoft' from the Manufacturers List and 'Client for Microsoft Networks' from the list of Clients.

Then click ADD again and select 'Protocols,' 'Microsoft,' and finally 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).' You may need to restart your computer when this is finished.

Click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then Properties.

Click OK.

Click OK.

Click Dial
You are now Connected.
