Pong.telerama.com is Telerama's public Unix machine. This is the machine you are using when you telnet to "telerama.com" or dial in directly (not using PPP).

Tips and tricks:

Here are some common problems and solutions:
• Programs aren't displaying correctly - Make sure you are using VT100 and not ANSI.
• Get ^H when hitting backspace - Try "stty erase ^h"
• Can't find programs - Make sure both /usr/contrib/bin and /usr/local/bin are in your path. This should happen by default but won't if you've created your own shell initialization (rc) files.
• Can't telnet/ftp to pong - Pong does DNS validation on incoming connections. Your host must have a valid reverse DNS entry to connect to pong
