How to add an initialization string
For Windows 95:
- Double click on the my computer icon.
- Double click on dial up networking.
- Right mouse click once on the Telerama connection icon.
- Select properties from the menu.
- Click the Configure button.
- Select the connection tab in the new window.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Enter your init string in the field labeled extra settings.
- Click OK.
For Macintosh using Config PPP:
- Click on the Apple icon and go to the Control Panels.
- Choose Config PPP from the Control Panels menu.
- Click on Config.
- Enter your modem init in the field labeled modem init.
- Click done to save your settings.
For Macintosh using FreePPP:
- Open FreePPP Setup, expand the window and click on the Accounts tab.
- Edit your existing Telerama account.
- Select the Connection tab.
- Enter your modem init string in the feild named Modem Init String.
- Click ok to save your changes.
How to disable x2
Telerama's lines are k56flex enabled. If you are having trouble connecting with
an US Robotics X2 modem, try disabling the X2.
Some of these are for the Sportster and some are for the Courier. Try different
commands and see which one works. These go at the end of your current init string.
- S32=34 (for Sportster)
- S58=1 (for Courier)
- s15.7=1
- &N16&U8
- &N16
- S32.5=1
