DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line. This new technology provides
high-speed access to data over a single pair of ordinary copper
telephone wires. DSL uses the greater portion of a previously unused
phone frequency to transmit data TO users, while a smaller portion
receives information FROM them.
Since DSL works over existing phone lines and in conjunction
with POTS (plain old telephone service), you can use it to surf the web
while you talk on the phone! Moreover, DSL is up to 125 times faster than
even a 56k modem, and its secure, dedicated line means 24 hour access with
no busy signals.
